Keeop reviews CTEK MXS 5.0 Fully Automatic Battery Charger (Charges, Maintains and Reconditions Car and Motorcycle Batteries) 12V
I had a leg injury and was laid up for a few months which meant my car battery completely died. It was only a couple of years old as well and I started reading horror stories of people being unable to bring these things back to life using some battery chargers and jumping was not recommended in this situation – this was a bloomin’ great battery in an X5. I had to move the car as we were having some garden work done and the guys needed to get equipment in to the back garden which meant I needed to move the car.
So, lots of Googling later, I decided to get this charger. I think, at the time, the price was OK – according to Camel it had been lower but had been higher but I didn’t have the luxury of waiting so just purchased.
It took 2 whole days to do it’s business – trickle charge or what?! – but after those 2 days the car sprang to life instantly and has been fine ever since. I did give it another charge and condition recently as due to the lock-down, it had been sitting idle for a few weeks. Think that was all done in around 6 hours that time.
No complaints from me then and I would have been stuffed without it so only have good things to say based on my experience.
